A simple web click on our Google advert led Birmingham based design agency Brandscape, to contact Evans for advice and assistance. They were looking to create an entire learning development package for the prestigious David Beckham Training Academy, which was to be opened early in 2008.
Our ability to work with a wide variety of materials meant we were ideally placed to understand the brief that was being presented to us. With a varied approach throughout the entire programme the selection of materials was vast and meant that we would need to be very focused on what the end result would be.
Covering not just conventional print, but also screen and digital processes, the whole proposal needed to be tied together in order to ensure everything worked as planned. With items as diverse as magnetic easel boards included, there were many different finishes and production challenged to be considered. Our willingness to push the boundaries meant that we were able to say "yes" to pretty much every request, and this was reflected in the manner in which we went about completing the tasks.
Digital print output featured highly in this package as virtually every piece was personalised in some shape or form. With different requirements for all elements that logistics proved challenging, but we were able to keep the order on track and on time. There were so many different pieces to be produced and collated, it was a full time job keeping on top of the packing requirements. Using moulded snap-top buckets and assorted containers we devised a clever method of collating and storing the entire package of loose items; an ingenious solution to a time worn problem indeed. Of course, every bucket also needed a tailored label of sorts to help identify the contents; we were only too pleased to assist!
We had successfully put together a complete multi-faceted package consisting of numerous items, all perfectly placed to work with the next one, finished and packed in either plastic containers or their custom made flight cases. Even the A1 easel stands had been disassembled and re-configured to suit the program required. The final result was a very credible educational package that gave the academy everything it needed to train tomorrow's football stars. |
