Leading UK drugs manufacturer Evans Vaccines required an innovative approach to their problem of how to successfully market a 10-year life drug program resource kit. However, Art Director Marcus Perry of PBC Communications knew just what to do! Working closely with Evans Graphics an excellent solution was devised which would prove to be cost effective, durable and provide the right product to deliver the correct message for years to come.
The Solution
Based around a 1200um thick Priplak Yellow Polypropylene stock, a design was created to construct a durable carry case, large enough to hold and store the 10-year life programme matter that was at the heart of the problem. Capable of being decorated via the screen print process, this also ensured a really vibrant colour depth was achieved for the striking image used for the client (see picture of case graphic).

Several mock-ups were produced to allow for profile improvements and fit enhancements to be effected, until the construction was correct. Using the digital plotter based technology installed at Evans Graphics, this was achieved effortlessly, without having had to waste money and resources on unsuitable tooling.
A custom size "mill-manufacture" was organized for the production of the 5 tonnes of Polypropylene material required, and this was produced and shipped in under two working weeks, no mean feat considering that the European plants were just about to shut down for their annual maintenance schedule!
The Result
Production was swift, and with the resultant assembly work all taking place on site, Evans Graphics were able to produce 4000+ finished cases well within the month proposed, complete with a pair of 800um Priplak Crystaline Insert Binders, each containing all of the collated documentation and media associated with the programme.
In total there were some 48 pallets of finished product which had to be delivered to a variety of destinations in the UK, but all of these were sent on-time, and in perfect order. |
