 The renaming of the original "EJEF" (Euro Japanese Exchange Foundation) building to the "Quadrangle" meant that a whole new approach was required to the appearance and format of the sign installation. Having recently completed a successful laser cut lettering installation on the adjacent Wycombe Lodge complex, it seemed only natural to review the style and see if it would work on the building in question.
The answer which came back from everybody was "Yes, that style seems to be exactly what we are looking for!", and so sketches and proposals were put forward for commenting upon. The simplicity of the laser cut stainless steel characters appealed to all who were involved, and it was a relatively straight forward process to transfer the design data directly to the laser profiling equipment in order to generate the cut to size letters. Using our preferred 3.0mm DP1 polished stainless steel, the fabrication was swiftly completed, with the necessary brass locators and stand-off pegs being welded on as required.
The fitting was handled by our two resident sign erectors, and this took several hours to install successfully. These letters are attached by means of a female screw fixed locating barrel, which then takes the male part of the fitting from the reverse side of the character. The important part as on all of these installations is to ensure that the drilled holes are 100% accurate so as to receive the stud on the lettering. The uneven render made it somewhat tricky to get the holes spot on first time, but using our time honoured techniques (perseverance and patience), the installation finally came together to everyone's satisfaction.
The clients were highly delighted with the end result, and apart from having to trim back an errant branch on a fairly large tree which was causing an obstruction, the lettering is now highly visible and portrays the correct impression that was hoping to be achieved at the start of the project.
