A new cold cure LED printing table is now installed at our Maidenhead plant. Using CMYK UV inks, including white and a clear lacquer, we now have a hi-resolution small format printing device to complement our wider format machines. With a print area of 300 x 420mm, and a print resolution of 1400 x 1200dpi using variable dot size technology, this new machine is already finding favour from staff and clients alike.
The capabilities of this machine are still being explored, but we are very optimistic that the wide range of materials and components we are asked to work with on a daily basis will be quickly & easily handled by this latest technology output device. It's print bed can accommodate materials up to 50mm in thickness, which makes it ideal for handling moulded parts and components where a client's image needs to be added after assembly. With the added bonus of the white ink too, we can always undercut with an opaque white to help strengthen colours on a dark background.
Prototypes and small quantity orders have been crying out for this capability, and with the LED curing helping to keep the materials cool, there's no danger of cockling or curling from the traditional hot UV lamps.
